Tamron AF 60mm F/2 Di II Macro Lens Review

Tamron SP AF 60mm f/2.0 Di II LD (IF) MACRO 1:1

On my last post, I was reviewing several macro lenses for both Canon, Nikon and Tamron. After doing more research on macro lenses from Tamron, I found that Tamron has released a new 60 mm macro lens. The Tamron SP AF 60mm f/2 Di II LD (IF) Macro 1:1 lens is much improved over the 90 mm in several aspects. The first one is concerned the aperture. The Tamron 60 mm is f2 and the 90 mm is f 2.8. The Tamron 60mm f/2 Macro 1:1 incorporates an internal focusing system with low dispersion elements. Because that Tamron is a Di II lens, it was only fitting a cropped APS-C digital cameras. So as you can see Tamron did a great job with producing and your high quality macro lens.

A smaller aperture will give you the ability to shoot objects with shallower depth of field, in comparison to other macro lenses with aperture 2.8. Of course you need to take the focal range into consideration, nevertheless, that means that you can even shoot in low light situations. I did a lot of research on the Internet and read many reviews about macro lenses, before deciding which macro lens will be on my next DSLR camera. There are not so many macro lenses on the market, even though, the ones that most inspired me, just by looking at their photos, where Tamron and Canon macro lenses.

At first base, I thought about waiting for the new release of the Canon 100 mm image stabilization hybrid macro lens. I'm still a bit confused and can't make up my mind about which macro lens I should buy. Tamron company has proven that they can produce some very high optical quality macro lenses and other wide, normal and telephoto lenses to the market.

Three years ago, they wouldn't have touched a camera lens, but now everything has changed, and you find that you have more selection of macro lenses to choose from. I remembered buying the Tamron 55-200mm telephoto lens a year ago for my Canon 400D DSLR. Even though that the focus was slow, the image quality that was produced with this telephoto zoom lens was absolutely incredible, and I mean it.

The Tamron SP AF 60mm f/2.0 Di II LD (IF) MACRO 1:1 (model g005) was exclusively designed full digital SLR cameras with cropped sensors. And the lens was exclusively designed to take advantage of the smaller size of the sensor in comparison to full frame sensor, and therefore, Tamron could build a smaller lens with higher optical quality characteristics.

This Tamron 60mm macro lens is the fastest macro lens in its class. The Tamron SP AF60mm is a medium telephoto 1:1 life size macro lens features a fast maximum aperture of F/2. Many photographers have wanted a faster macro lens from both Nikon and Canon, but Tamron has managed to build such a complex lens, which can produce very sharp images, both the center and the borders of the image.

Tamron 60mm SP AF60mm f/2.0 macro lens employs two large LD (low dispersion ) glass elements to compensate for various aberrations, in order to produce high optical quality pictures.

Tamron also employed a new BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) multilayer coatings in order to ensure that you get the optimum performance in almost every photographic situation. As we said earlier, the camera has internal focusing system for enhanced ease of use for photographers. If you compare the Tamron 90mm to the 60mm macro lens, the Tamron 90mm does not have internal focusing system. Here are some specifications about Tamron macro lens:
