If I haven't told you that before, I'm interested in buying a tilt-shift lens for my jewelry photography project that I'm working on. I start reading about tilt shift lenses, in order to gain more knowledge about those types of lenses, and what you actually can do with them. In this post, I want to get into in-depth details and talk about the technology behind Tilt-Shift lenses, but I wanted to share with you some links to beautiful photographs that were taken using tilt shift photography. If you already know what tilt-shift lenses are, just make yourself comfortable and enjoy those amazing photographs.

The first article is from smashing Magazine called "beautiful examples of tilt shift photography". Even though most of the images are all miniature subjects, you can really see what are the effects that you can create, using tilt shift lenses from either Nikon or Canon, both companies have tilt shift lenses. As for the date of writing this article, Canon has four tilt shift lenses and Nikon have three tilt shift lenses.
Tilt-Shift Effects Using Adobe Photoshop
Some people told me that the tilt shift effects, can be done using photo editing software like Photoshop. I actually don't know about that, but it seems that you can use image blur and mask in Photoshop or by putting one layer on top of the other, to achieve this effect, but I'm not sure about it.
Tilt-Shift Maker
I even found a website called tilt and shift maker, which allows you to upload your photograph and selecting the area in focus and get your Tilt-Shift picture ready. If you can spread some light about Tilt-Shift lenses, I would greatly appreciate it. Because I know how to use as Adobe Photoshop photo editing software, if it is possible to achieve the tilt shift effect using Photoshop, there is no reason to buy an expensive tilt shift lens.
More Tilt-Shift Examples...
Other Tilt-Shift examples can be found on the hongkiat.com website, on an article called "tilt shift photography - 80+ beautiful examples". In there you can find a large collection of Tilt-Shift photographs taken by various artists. Some of them are miniature subjects and some of them are of real life seems. What seems to amaze me that there isn't even one jewelry photograph. I thought that tilt shift lenses are mostly used for taking jewelry photographs, seems not, and maybe I should stop thinking of buying a tilt shift lens.
Does it Worth Buying a Tilt-Shift Lens?
Anyway, I hope you enjoy visiting those websites and watching those photographs with Tilt-Shift technology lenses. Some of the comments on those articles from users are suggesting that many of those photographs were edited using Photoshop editing software to make this effect, and it wasn't done using tilt shift lenses. I don't know, maybe it's true and maybe not, I to really want your opinion about Tilt-Shift lenses and a connection of tilt shift lenses to jewelry photography at not just miniature photography, thanks.
