Wait or Buy the New Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 VR II?

If you're after buying a new telephoto zoom lens from Nikon, you should probably consider investing in the new Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II lens from Nikon. If you're on a tight budget would probably ask yourself, whether you should invest in a better I quality glass, or rather you should buy a less expensive telephoto zoom lens with a lower optical quality. Of course it all pivots on your budget, but I am in the same circumstance like you. Investing $2400 on one lens is not a simple decision to make. I have decided that occasionally you're better off buying two or three lenses with good optical quality instead of one expensive high-quality lens.

After seeing some pictures online taken with the Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VR II I was bought right away. The image quality was nothing but awe-inspiring. For some amateur photographers like me, the image quality is very important, and you want to come home after a long day all shooting photographs, and be able to produce colorful, sharp and beautiful images. I recall taking pictures with my older Canon 400D telephoto zoom lens (I can remember it the exact model, but it was a cheap  lens). When I came home and upload images to my PC computer, I remember that I wasn't satisfied with the quality of those pictures. It seems that optical quality of the lens is really important for me to be satisfied with the quality of the pictures I'm taking.
Nikon has some very high optical quality lenses in the Nikkor range, but the prices are very high, at least for some amateur photographers who don't have enough money to buy those expensive lenses. I'm so frustrated right now, I can just tell you that I would rather wait another two months and buy Nikon 70-200mm VR II lens, instead of buying a lower optical quality lens in the Nikkor range. The are many benefits of buying a more high-priced lens, like: sharp photographs, high contrast, fast focusing, special lens coating that prevents artifacts in the picture, internal focusing without extending the barrel of the lens, build quality, vibration reduction, small aperture etc.

As you can see there are many superiorities that you get when you pay more to buy higher quality Nikkor lenses from Nikon. So if you want my opinion and my advice, I think that you should save more money and by a more expensive lens that will provide you a more creative tool and will allow you to be more creative on the field. Of course many other people would just tell you to buy a cheaper lens and start taking photographs, but I know you, you want the best quality, and in order to get that, you should probably wait until you can afford to buy this lens. If it is way to expensive for you, you should probably pass that and buy a cheaper lens. My recommendation is to save more money and by this amazing Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II new telephoto zoom lens from Nikon.
