As new cameras' announcements keep streaming in, I have decided to write this blog post about camera rumors websites. Many photographers are searching for camera predictions before making any call, if they should buy or upgrade their camera now, or wait till new models appear. Of course Canon and Nikon rumors sites are doing the best they can to provide the most accurate information that is available to them, without having single fact (most of the time, that's why its called 'rumors') about the new model. But sometimes teaser pictures are popping out in photography websites and on the official Canon and Nikon sites, and by just looking at the dark camera contour image, they try to evaluate it and figure out, what will be in the next model. Years 2010, 2011 and 2012 will be the most significant in the DSLR industry in my opinion. OK, enough talking, let's get started right away.

Canon and Nikon rumors websites are the most popular ones, but other manufacturers rumors related websites exists as well. So let's take a closer look on several popular Camera rumors/predictions sites, so you can also bookmark them, and take a daily observations on their findings.

Canon Rumors (CanonRumors.com) - Probably one of the most popular rumors sites out there. Canon photographers are visiting this website daily before a prediction of a new model date approaches. Every time that the estimate end of the camera model cycle reaches to its end, we can see photographers hanging around in Canon rumors websites like this one, trying to figure out the next model specifications. It is not just Cameras rumors, but also about Canon new lenses and photographic accessories. Canon rumors website also has reviews and a forum, in which photographers from all around the world can share their excitement and their own predictions about new camera models. Have you found leaked pictures of Canon soon to be released Cameras? - Don't forget to visit this website and share that valuable info with other photographers.

If you are waiting for new upcoming models from Nikon, this is the website to follow. Covers predictions on Nikon cameras and DSLRs, new Nikkor lenses and Nikon accessories.   It also has a humor rumor, news, reviews and software sections, and a dedicated forum where you can share your opinions and predictions about new Nikon camera, lenses and photographic gear predictions with other Nikon photographers. This Nikon arena start getting hot especially before news press and other special photo exhibitions (CES, Photokina show or PMA) that take place every year in the US, Europe, Japan and other countries around the world. (new replacement for the Nikon D700, anyone?).

Leica Rumors (LeicaRumors.com) - For those of us who can afford a Leica camera or lenses, this Leica ews & Rumors/predictions website is a place where you should hand around. Before any important press news and special photography exhibitions (CES, Photokina show or PMA), this website keep getting lots of visits of "hungry for new models" photographers, who are waiting to hear any new piece of information about a new model. After all, not everyday you can buy a Leica camera or lens, and this is the place to stay updated with new headlines, rumors and predictions, including pictures and videos of current camera releases.

Olympus and Panasonic Rumors (43rumors.com) - Every four-thirds Panasonic and Olymous camera photographer should become familiar with this website. Whether a new 4/3 CCD development is under way or new Four-Thirds Olympus and Panasonic cameras and lenses are suppose to be announced, 43rumors.com has its own evaluations and predictions on what suppose to come next. It is also decorated with pictures and videos of current camera models like the other rumors website.

Sony Alpha Rumors (SonyAlphaRumors.com) - Sony Alpha digital camera news and rumors website is where you can find predictions about new Alpha range upcoming cameras and lenses. Also has a news sections and a reviews section where you can read more info about current released model. If a leaked pictures has been located on the web, you will probably will see it here. And as you know Sony, they love to put tease pictures before any announcement of a new camera model (remember the large tease of the new Alpha DSLRs a few years ago?). So Sony rumors is a very interesting place to hang around in. Sony is a very interesting well funded company, the company who brought us the PS3 and the Alpha DSLR cameras. Sony keep making new innovations in the photography arena (aka NEX-5 and Sony NEX-VG10). In my opinion, Sony is probably the most interesting companies, and I can hardly wait to see what next is coming from this very successful and full of innovation company.  I also recommend visiting SonyRumors.net.

BTW: for creating the thumbnails (screenshots) I have use both Thumboo, websnapr 2.0 and thumbalizr. In mind opinion, thumbalizr worked faster then the others and allows custom size (thanks thumbalizr).
