Have you seen the term "EVIL" in many Canon, Sony and Nikon forums and blogs (like Sony EVIL, Canon EVIL, Nikon or Olympus EVIL cameras), and wondered what "EVIL" means?. The term "EVIL" means Electronic Viewfinder, Interchangeable lens. It refers to new type of interchangeable lens' camera that will be much smaller then current DSLRs, because the camera will use an electronic viewfinder instead of a mirror and conventional viewfinder. Sony has introduced two EVIL cameras, the Sony Alpha NEX-3 and
NEX-5 compact cameras. Because they are EVIL, their camera body is much smaller compared to conventional DSLRs, and many referred to them as "mirroless cameras" or "mirroless dSLR".
EVIL = Electronic Viewfinder, Interchangeable Lens
Now you know term "
EVIL" stands for in photography.
Many of today's DSLR camera manufacturers like Sony, Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Panasonic, has manufactured their own type of "EVIL" cameras. Some of the "EVIL" models that can be found are: Panasonic G2 and GF1, Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5, Olympus E-PL1 cameras. IN 2010 and 2010 we will probably see more and more EVIL cameras, because of the high demand of compact and lightweight interchangeable lens cameras.
