Top Camera (and Lenses) Reviews Sites that You Should Be Familiar With

How many time you have entered "camera review" or "photography review sites" on search engines? - There are many camera and photographic equipment reviews sites on the Internet, but I am pretty sure that some of you are not familiar with all the best digital photography reviews sites on the Internet, and because of that, I've decided to create this blog post, which I will present to you my top photography/camera reviews sites on the Internet (in my opinion of course). But in my best digital photography sites list, I want to also give emphasize on websites that has learning materials for new and amateur photographers, who want to expand their knowledge and become better photographers. The sites are followed by screenshots and compete.com estimated unique visitors charts.

Before you decide which camera or any type of photography gear you intend to buy, the best thing is to visit unbiased digital photography reviews sites, so you can get the right information about specific photography gear (camera, lenses, rigs, flash, studio lighting, batteries, grips, books, etc.) and making the right purchase for your photographic needs. So let's start with my top digital photography website's list, shall we?

dpreview.com - This is probably one of the best and most known digital photography reviews sites on the Internet. I am personally not buying any gear without first reading about it on dpreview. On dpreview.com you can find camera reviews, DSLR lenses review, news and headlines, buying guides, participate in forums and photographic contests (challenges), watch online users image galleries and so on. It is most popular because its in-depth unbiased digital camera reviews, with lab testing and sample galleries for each camera that it being reviewed. (Alexa Traffic Rank: 1,243).

The-Digital-Picture.com - Every Canon photographer should be familiar with this website. It has the most comprehensive Canon lens review on the Internet (at least is one of my top picks). If you search for interchangeable Canon DSLR lenses, Sigma, Zeiss & Tamron lens reviews, you needn't search any longer. The Digital Picture website also reviews photography gear like Tripods, Canon SpeedliteFlash monopods, lens accessories, computer hardware and software for photographers, lens and sensor cleaning reviews and much more. It also have community forums and Canon news section. It is a Canon savvy site that's for sure, and Canon photographers should be familiar with this website already. (Alexa Traffic Rank: 14,548).

photo.net - A large photography community, like the "Flickr" of the digital photography sites. It is a place where new photographers can meet with professional photographers, share their knowledge and experience and also upload their pictures online and share them with other users on photo.net. Photo.net also has reviews on digital cameras and equipment, but with less depth and lab test examples as dpreview.com. Photo.net is well known for its online photography tutorials. In its learn section you can find large amount of tutorials like: Event photography, Fine Art Photography, Color management (monitor and printer profiling), advanced Adobe Photoshop tutorials, learn advanced shooting techniques from the experts for macro, studio lighting, underwater, club/events, astrophotography, infrared and ultraviolet photography and so on. (Alexa Traffic Rank: 2,153)

Steves-digicams.com - Under the slogan "The consumer's best source of digital camera information and news", Steve's Digicams is one of the first digital photography reviews site I came across when I've started searching for camera reviews on the Internet. A few years ago, there weren't so many sites as today, but I can surely remember visiting dpreview and Steve's Digicams site on a daily basis. Steve's Digicams offer camera reviews and articles, a list of "The Best Cameras" reviewed on the site, photo contest, knowledge center, news & updates. (Alexa Traffic Rank: 15,279)

WhatDigitalCamera.com - This is the website of the popular "What Digital Camera Magazine". It is like the "PC Magazine" of the photography world. You can compare cameras online, read user reviews and see all the camera specifications. Read buying advices and tips, browse through the online community forum and watch video reviews on the latest products. Followed by beautiful pictures taken by professional photographers, the ShutterBug website is a great place to just browse and educated yourself for hours every week. (Alexa Traffic Rank: 132,504)

DigitalCamera.info - I thought that this website will be one of the most popular digital photography reviews site on the Internet (maybe it needs to change its design?), but it is lag behind other sites (in terms of traffic at least). This is one of the most important reviews sites in my opinion. Its camera reviews are really top notch. What makes digitalcamera.info website so unique compared to other reviews' sites, is that is segments its review summary into "Good" and "Bad" for each section like color accuracy , noise, resolution, video, LCD screen (Playback), hardware, controls & Design and handling. It has in-depth reviews, the review product tour covers each section that we've mentioned above in great details, including comparison to other competitive cameras in the same price/segment. In terms of usability, I think that Digital Camera Info dot com is one of the best out there. You can find reviews by ratings, brand (Canon, Casio, Fuji, Olympus, Panasonic, Samsung, Pentax, Nikon, etc) and type. Followed by sample photos and videos, I think that you must visit this website and read its reviews to really understand the difference between a good photography reviews' site and a bad (usability) web. No Canon info there, but you can find plenty of useful articles and guides, even if you aren't a Nikon enthusiast. Thinking of buying a Nikon digital SLR camera? - This is probably one of the best places to hang around.
