Canon PowerShot S95 Advanced Compact Digital Camera - Movie Sample

This is a preview of Canon PowerShot S95 advanced compact digital camera, which was announced this week (8/19/2010). Premium compact digital cameras are very popular among amateur photographers. Sometimes you want a pocket camera that you can take everywhere with you. When EVIL cameras were announced, it seems that there is a better alternative to premium compact digital cameras. Even so, many digital camera manufacturers keep creating more sophisticated pocket consumer cameras every year. Today I want to take a closer look into Canon's new PowerShot S95 Advanced compact digital camera.

Canon PowerShot S95 digital camera, replaced the previous S90 model. As new Canon technology innovations are being reviled, there is always a way to improve its premium S-series camera's lineup. Canon has included some of its latest technologies in this pocket digital camera. You can find 720p HD video recording feature and 'Hybrid IS' system for preventing image blur when shooting handheld, SDXC support.

Canon PowerShot S95 seems like a very attractive advanced compact digital camera. With a bright f/2.0 lens, you can shoot images in low-light conditions, and even get a better shallow depth-of-field when shooting close subjects. Furthermore, Canon PowerShot S95 utilizes Canon's brand new HS system. Together with Canon's DIGIC 4 processor and the new high-sensitivity CCD sensor, you will achieve spectacular low noise images with high dynamic range and sharpness.

Today many vendors try to create more technology innovations to further enhance and upgrade the image quality taken with consumer advanced digital cameras. You can enjoy the high quality UA lens and Hybrid-IS to shoot 720p HD videos too!

It seems that Canon has squeezed a lot of technology innovations into this the PowerShot S95 camera. The Hybrid IS technology is a very welcomed feature. This is an optical image stabilization mechanism that compensates different types of camera movements, leading to sharp images every time. Together with UA elements on a 28-105mm F/2.0-4.9 lens, it seems like the perfect advanced digital camera that we all have been waiting for.

DigitalRev had a chance to try the S95 on Canon product press workshop. The editor of DigitalRev.com was very impressed with images taken at 1600 and 3200 ISO. It seems that Canon as done a very good job elevating the image quality in its S-series' cameras. The Hybrid IS is very helpful when shooting images and videos handheld. The S95 also has a rotating ring for manual focusing. Furthermore, Canon has implemented a special Miniature effect that imitates a tilt-shift lens effect. In addition, you can even shoot an image with a fish-eye effect, even though that the lens is not an ultra wide-angle lens, pretty cool!

Canon Powershot S95 allows amateur photographers to become more creative and have better control over their digital camera. Canon PowerShot S95 allows you to shoot High Dynamic Range images, by automatically taking three images in different exposures. After that, the camera takes those three images and combines them into a single high dynamic range photo. After that, you get a picture that brings out better details in highlights and shadow areas, that otherwise will be lost. I just want to mention that Canon said the a tripod is required for High Dynamic Range images.

Canon PowerShot S95 is the successor of an already very popular premium compact digital camera, the Canon S90. If you put S95 vs. S90 and compare them one against the other, I think that you will find the S95 worth the upgrade, for sure. I am eager to read some future S95 reviews when they will become available. It seems that this is going to be one of the best advanced digital cameras on the market today.

What can I say? - I am really impressed with the image and video quality of the S95. It incorporates Canon's latest imaging technology and some useful gimmicky effects that you might find useful. All in all, this is a high-end compact digital cameras, that I am sure will be very popular, if not more popular than the previous S90.
