Canon White L-Lenses - from a different perspective

Well, it's not exactly about me, but my overall impression that I get from L-lens unboxing videos on YouTube. Let's leave the professional aspects aside for a moment, and let's concentrate on the look of Canon L-lenses (the White ones). I tried to understand, why (some) photographers admire their L-lenses so much. The best thing to do, is to search the answer deep inside yourself, from a different perspective. Connect to what makes you a passionate photographer and a gadget-geek, and maybe the answer will be relieved.

Canon white L-lenses are different. Some people will say that they are ugly, and some will say that they look beautiful. It is all about the eye of the beholder. Even so, I must admit that when I looked at Canon EF 70-300mm F/4-5.6L IS USM, I just couldn't resist the slick, white, compact and professional look that these lens signifies. The red line that wraps the lens in its front section, really signifies that we are looking at something unique. I even think that some people will base their buying decision on the look and feel of available lenses.

Canon L-lenses (white ones) are solidly built, made from Canon's finest ingredients. Having a Canon white L-lens is like having a prestige fashion accessory. Photographers fall in love with it at first sight. Holding them in your hand it's a beginning of a new relationship, one that will stay for a long time.

Canon white L-lenses (The 'L' letter stands for 'Luxury'), really grabs the attention of people. After all, not everyday you have the chance to see a white lens (well, maybe if you are a soccer team fan, there are many in soccer games). The focusing ring smoothly rotates like smearing a butter on a fresh new hot bread. There is nothing more excited than buying a Canon White L-lens, bring it to your home, and start the traditional ceremony of unboxing it, step-by-step. You can see how people are excited when unboxing their L-lens on YouTube videos. They are leaving the lens for the latest introduction, showing you the manual and all the unimportant stuff, until they reveal the L-lens in all its glory. The red stripe on the white lens, grabs your attention immediately. Suddenly, you feel that you ought to by yourself one, hold it, bond with it and experience it with you Canon DSLR camera.

Many will tell you that you should invest most of your money on high-grade lenses, rather than the camera body. So what do you prefer? - A Canon EOS 7D with a 'regular' EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM,  alternatively, grab a Canon T2i with a Canon EF 70-300mm F4-5.6L IS USM L-series lens?
The white L-lenses are hard to resist. They are amazingly attractive & perfectly constructed with the highest standards. The red stripe signifies Canon exellence in the lens optics and prestige ultra-high quality materials. Optically excellent, Canon L-lenses can be found in many professional photographer camera bags.
