What, No Vertical Battery Grip for Sony SLT-A55 DSLR?
Some photographers are disappointed that the Sony SLT-A55 don't have a vertical battery grip. Battery grips are a welcomed feature for photographers who want to have the look & feel. Shooting portrait digital images are far easier when using a vertical battery grip. After digging dpreview and Sony's SLT-A55 official product page, I didn't find any clue for a vertical battery grip for the Sony SLT-A55/A33 DSLR cameras. Maybe Sony will come up with a battery grip for the A55/A33 cameras, but usually companies announce the battery grip accessory, together with the camera. I am also a little bit disappointed by myself, after using a battery grip on my previous 400D DSLR camera, this is a must feature for many photographers.
Taking into consideration that the Sony SLT-A55V is a compact DSLR camera, many photographers with large hands, will find the camera lacks of ergonomics. But even so, there will probably be 3rd party battery grips manufacturers that will create one. This is probably a great opportunity to market these kind of products, especially if the official company doesn't release a genuine battery grip itself.
If you did find any clue, whether the Sony A55 or A33 will have a battery grip, please share this information here.
