Prestige EVIL compact cameras - Concept Design

The new prestige EVIL cameras design version 6 is now ready. I just can't believe how much time and effort I have been given this new design. After working hard on the previous Canon EVIL camera designs I have decided to stay with the last EVIL camera design, but add a luxury touch to it. I remember telling you that I would be given more time for designing a new digital camera body, and I intend to to that on version 7. The main goals of the design, that got inspired by the previous version, was to create more like a magazine advertisement page that reflect my desire and love for photography (not just mine of course).

In order to give it a prestige look, I have decided to coat put a high quality leather coating with different textures and colors. I paid for a high quality image of a woman holding a Cognac glass and wearing luxury jeweleries and diamond rings. I wanted to create a upper-class magazine ad page, and I have chosen the background image that I think that reflects luxury and a upper-class occasion. Also I wanted a mirror table to get the most appealing look when the camera is on the table.

If you don't have time reading all this post, here is the final EVIL Camera design that I have been working on for the last 2 days:


I have called this collection "prestige private collection". The first EVIL camera design was the "golden allure". I have bought some great genuine leather textures, and the first one was the golden leather texture. Because the first camera is covered with golden leather, I also have used a golden metal template on it. I have named the cameras, everyone with a color name + a sensual word to better signify the fact that I was targeting this luxury interchangeable lens compact digital camera to upper class men and women. I have used the chocolate, navajo, sepia, mahogany and amber colors to give every camera a special look and unique feel. I was spending some time on Wikipedia to know what the name of the colors, even though that it might not be 100% accurate (but it is not what really important, right?).

It is not 100% perfect, but I have given a lot of time to make lightning adjustments so the camera will get the most attention, but also wanted to show the jewelry in their best look, shinning diamonds and the real gold color. So the left side was darken a little bit and the right side was stayed the same (some contrast corrections though). I have been using some primitive shapes and apply some modifications to create the silky gradient line at the bottom. I paid attention to many small details and added my touch of creativity to the camera, using shadow strokes and even used one pixel line and shadowing so that the leather will be like it is attached to the upper metal line.

I wanted to do it as fast as possible, and I was pretty tired yesterday so I have decided to spend a lot of time today to present it to you guys as fast as possible. I could have probably make it better, because the longer I am working on a specific design, the more it looks better (at least in my point of view). Overall I hope that you will like the new EVIL Camera design and I would be glad to hear you comments and suggestion. I am also glad to find out that people are commenting on my blog and find the content that I write interesting. I spend a lot of time doing research on the Internet, try to bring interesting subjects to my blog posts.

Again, I am not professional designer, just a person who loves photography and love also web design. If you want to see more EVIL (not just) camera designs, I will be glad to provide more designs and post them on my blog.  I am still thinking how can I surprise you in my next version 7...mmmm.. it's a surprise, I won't tell you.
